The Coroana Hotel is one of the architectural jewels of Brasov, is the oldest hotel in town, the meeting place for personalities of all times. Located on the famous pedestrian street of the city, the Republic Boulevard, close to the line of the gate of the old city, near Piata Sfatului and the Black Church, the hotel attracts by Art Nouveau and Baroque architecture and therefore was declared a historical monument. The architects Schuller and Goldsmidt inspired by muncheneza architecture were proposing a symbolic building that pleased both the aesthetic and the functionality.
The hotel’s threshold has been stepped by important personalities of Romanian spirituality such as George Cosbuc, Cincinat Pavelescu, Lucian Blaga, Emil Cioran and Octavian Goga. Here was held the first literary meeting in Brasov, in 1923.
